Adaptation Communications

Under Article 7 of the Paris Agreement, parties recognized that adaptation measures must be integrated with environmental and social policies including that they should be developed in a participatory manner (as specified in Article 7.5). Thus, as with NDCs, Adaptation Communications should be developed through a meaningful and effective process that allows for the full participation of civil society especially indigenous peoples, local communities, and traditionally marginalized groups. To ensure this, Adaptation Communications should include information on how the actions respect and promote human rights and should provide detail on the development of the communications including how stakeholders were engaged.
